The Winter Sister by Megan Collins

This was one of my February reads and I did like it but I didn’t love it. I didn’t really care much about the characters even though this was a mystery that is supposed to pull you in but I had difficulty getting myself fully immersed in this story. The winter sister follows a woman named Sylvie who at a young age lost her sister. Her sister, Persephone, went out one night to meet up with her forbidden boyfriend then was found strangled not too long after. There were many assumptions about what happened to her and I just found it a bit predictable once the first clue was revealed. I did not dislike Sylvie but like what I said before is that I didn’t much care for her as a character. I definitely didn’t like her mother though. I understand that she lost her daughter but to me it just wasn’t right to completely lock herself out from her other daughter. She just did not care and just acted like no one did enough for her as she let herself go. It is a decent mystery but I don’t really see myself visiting this one again. I gave it a 2.5 out of 5 stars. I hope you guys enjoyed this read more than me!
